THE OISIN TRUST IS A  CHARITY established BY DEED OF TRUST.  It is a childrens charity.

It has chosen the Oisintrust as a name, inspired by the original ancient story of Oisin and Tir Na Og (country of the young)contained in the Duanaire Finn, The Book of the Lays of Fionn, the book of the Dun Cow, Book of Leinster, Oisins dialouge with St Patrick  & Yeats Wandering of Oisin also various ms and mss texts. The country of the young (Tir na Og) is a similair story to Hy Brazil, Shambala (Gyanganj) or Shangri-La, a concept found in many cultures and civilisations worldwide.

The Oisin Trust has three aims or projects, which the other items or projects contained within the oisintrust website can assist or encourage.

1)  To encougare a new disabled facility/school for the treatment or recuperation of all disabilities in Ireland. Ireland is lacking in care facilities and schools for the disabled. In order to facilitate this the Oisin trust will purchase land to enable this development to flourish. It will also continue to raise funds and maintain an existing building or superschool as far as it possible to do so. It will aim to build this development in a central location in Ireland, but also be close to the sea and a rural area of outstanding natural beauty, as such Grange in Sligo would be ideal although it takes Uisneach as Ireland’s real Sacred centre for healing and the land  &  http://www.festivalofthefires.com/.

This need is born out of many serious situations in Ireland where schooling and medical attention is simply not combined and parents and carers do not know how to solve this acute problem. People with disabilities will be encouraged to get involved in nay way they can, including design and fundraising. The Trust hopes to supply this beginning which could be then duplicated across all four (or five) provinces.

2) As a Charity the oisintrust believes it can operate best as a charity with approval from the Revenue Inspectors, with its status as non – profit organisation (npo) for social enterprise and development, a charity can also be  limited by guarantee, and many new charities in Britain are a charity/business known as a CIC  or a  community interest company .  The Oisintrust is a charity established by Deed of Trust, with its purpose to purchase land in Perpetuity without debt or bonds.

Anyone can donate to the charity via paypal or by anonymous donation to its banking account and can then become a trustee in the trust as a result as such it can have as many trustees as it requires. For full trustee status larger donations are required but for this you will own a stake in land in perpetuity, which as  a project is appealing to many and can also follow on in the tradition of the land league (Davitt) and agrarian land movement which is an established benefit to Ireland’s past and future. The Oisintrust will also seek a patron, professionals who are able to benefit the trust and also any two homeless or downtrodden member who wishes to add their expertise. This will make the trust non-elitist, Union membership will also be encouraged in all its members if they so wish, in this way the land, the members and the poorest in our society will be protected and all matters will be transparent.

Donations can be small two Euros being the smallest by paypal, or even one Euro or cents into its bank account personally. These donations are as important as larger benefactors, social entrepreneurs or philantrophists who wish to donate (to their benefit) and the Oisintrust will be continuing to place proposals before banking and financial institutions to seek funds from them directly. Anyone can donate as can any group.

3) The Oisintrust encourages co-operatives as a vehicle to assist charities, as such it has also established a co-operative with its inspiration as the Brigid’s cross and Brigid (Holy Woman). Just as a community interest company (cic) can often deliver projects which assist towns and villages, and which importantly add to but become separate to any local authority (town or village) budget and/or finances. In Ireland people could begin their own charity and/or co-operative to assist with the community interest, by donating and procuring to that community interest, working alongside LETS systerms and Credit Unions (which currently should not be merged but remain numerous and free)

Ullord is a design / constriction company which seeks designers and professionals who understand its symbolism, and as such entire villages could be built (a cross between Cloughjordan and the Body and Soul festival perhaps, and which could replace the estates which are currently crumbling around Ireland)
